'BALENCIAGA SUIT' FASHION DRAWING BY E STEMP
Object No. 85/846 This drawing illustrates a garment made by the European Fashion house Balenciaga. It was drawn by Eric Stemp a British fashion illustrator and artist who had originally wanted to be a poster designer but made a successful career as a freelance fashion illustrator. His illustrations accompanied articles in women’s fashion magazines such as “Clothing for the season” in British Vogue and Harpers Bazaar.

His father’s country is Owairtilla, also known as Canteen Creek, and his mother’s country is Alpurrurulam, also known as Lake Nash, in the Northern Territory, Australia. Country, daily life and his love of animals, particularly dogs, are the detailed focus of his work.
TABLET WITH SUMERIAN CUNEIFORM PICTOGRAPHIC SCRIPT
Object No.85/452 Terracotta tablet featuring nine horizontal lines of Sumerian cuneiform incised pictographic script on the obverse and reverse. Text on the obverse of the tablet details a receipt issued from Drehem to Alulu for five sheep, one lamb and four grass-fed male kids to be used for a royal offering. The tablet is dated to the eleventh month of the sixth year of Amar-Sin of the Third Dynasty of Ur.
