White Australia has a heart breakingly dark history. We can only hope the preciouse future generations make changes to heal things. It can only happen after aknowledging this horrible history.

On this day 26th January, 1788 the British Fleet, led by Arthur Phillip sailed into Port Jackson (Sydney Harbour) to establish Sydney, the first permanent European settlement on the continent. 26th January is now commemorated as Australia Day .Sydney was named after Thomas Townshend The 1st Viscount Sydney, a British politician who held several important Cabinet posts in the second half of the 18th century

Captain (later Admiral) Arthur Phillip RN October 1738 – 31 August was the first Governor of New South Wales and founder of the settlement which became Sydney.
