"HIS Excellency the Governor-General, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, has been pleased to approve of a Military Force being formed of persons who voluntarily agree to serve beyond the limits of the Commonwealth, to be designated the "Australian Imperial Force," consisting of One Division, one Light Horse Brigade; that Brigadier General W.
