Numero® is a game with the unique ability to build on the Number and Algebra strand of the Australian Curriculum Mathematics while developing social and game-related skills. It is a fun way of improving mathematics. From the very beginning, the ownership of copyright of Numero® was given to Alzheimer’s Australia WA by Frank and Joan Drysdale. This means that royalties provided from the sale of every pack of Numero® provide money to fund various dementia-related programs throughout the world.
There are challenges for each level of Numero®, allowing teachers to set the appropriate level of challenge for individual students with a guarantee of at least one level of wild cards in every challenge.
As part of the MRIS Better Buddies programme, Year students taught Year 1 students how to play Numero, a maths card game for all ages which challenges mathematical understanding and improves mental recall.
