Michael Bell Architects Scone Farmhouse

This weatherboard horse stud farmhouse with corrugated iron roof and French doors opening onto large verandahs is of typical Australian homestead style.

And my white weatherboard love affair continues! This time on the search for a weddi.

Kooringal Homestead, Hawkesdale (273km W of Melbourne), is an attractive weatherboard Edwardian house in Federation style. Single-storey and asymmetrical, it has exposed rafters and a high, steep hipped roof clad in corrugated metal. A return verandah beneath the house's unbroken roofline features paired, square timber posts with unusual post capitals. The very tall and slim brick chimneys have interesting corbelling. Kooringal has been owned by the Dawson family for 82 years.

Hipped Roof- all 4 sides slope down towards the walls. Common on farmhouse or ranch style
