John Collier - Lilith -- In folklore Lilith was the first wife of Adam made of Earth as Adam. When she refused to be submissive she was banished from The Garden of Eden and Adam was given Eve. Eve was made from his rib to ensure her obedience to Adam.

A poetically restrained novel, a rather beautiful tale of a young boy's 'rite of passage' from Ceylon to England, as he looks back on it from adulthood.

A fun read. Well worth it.

Where'd You Go, Bernadette: Maria Semple As a Seattlelite I cringed at some of the harsh (and all-too-true) observations of home. I learned about Antarctica and the characters become endearing the more the story unfolds. This story is a good light read.
