Boyce hired architects to design a 72-room country estate for entertaining (he lived in New York City at the time) on 22 acres of hilltop land in then rural Yonkers. After the death of he and his wife, the mansion fell into ruin as it was traded between owners who had no use for it.”
Damascus National Museum - this façade incorporates the transplanted doorway of Qasr al-Heir al-Gharbi, a desert castle located 80 km to SW of Palmyra. Built in 727 CE, the castle was used to control the movement of the desert tribes as well as a hunting mansion during Umayyad era.
