My library's version of: Blind Date with a Book

Library Display: Blind Date with a Book

Yep. It's that time of year. Love is in the air. Red roses and cupids abound. And it's time to pick up a blind date with a book. This is a repeat from last year, it was so successful. I guess that makes it a tradition now. I make sure to have selections for all ages, because I think everyone has fun with the idea. Wrapped recommendations include everything from picture books to the popular adult fiction. It's a hit. Give it a try at your library!

Making Thinking Visible with Interactive Bulletin Boards. This is a great strategy to use for inquiry based learning and works in many grades. I have tried it with first grade, second grade, third grade, fourth grade and fifth grade. It allowed for s student's voices to be heard and seen and increased engagement. This strategy provides opportunity for critical thinking in the elementary classroom. Great for 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade and up!

Making Thinking Visible with Interactive Bulletin Boards

Use the Tug of War Strategy for making thinking visible: Over the last few years my teaching has been heavily ingrained with inquiry based learning, problem/project based learning and open ended questioning.
