Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov, prince Smolenskij"
Monument of M. Kutuzov. Sculptor G. I. Motovilov, architect L. M. Poliakov. The monument is disposed in the public garden in the beginning of the Sovietskaya street, and it was installed in 1954. You can see the bronze figure of M. Kutuzov (4 m) in classical pose with sword in his right deflated hand on the granite pedestal by height 3.15 m. On card face of the pedestal there is a board with the inscription: "To the great russian military leader Mikhail Illarionovich Kutuzov, prince Smolenskij"
(Just outside Dyers building) The Royal Fusiliers Monument. Grade II listed. Erected in 1922 + dedicated to the nearly 22,000 soldiers of The Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) who died during WWI. It stands at Holborn Bar, one of the ancient entry points to the City of London. The bronze statue was designed by Albert Toft, with Cheadle & Harding as architects. Oppressed people cannot remain oppressed forever.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr. Memento Park was set up after the fall of the communist regime in Hungary, as a place to showcase 42 of the sculptures that were spread around Budapest during the Soviet era. There are statues of Lenin, Engels, and Marx and many other statues that celebrate communism, the workers and other socialist ideals.
