Chickens scratching around for seed: The grove at Burnside Organic Farm began when Jamie purchased some young olive trees after moving in. "I asked about soil preparation and was given a list of chemicals to pour onto the soil," he says. Research revealed that many of these were harmful chemicals, and quickly vetoed by Jamie. "I like the idea of the farm being a safe place for our children without any toxic chemicals involved in the mix." | Photography: Mark Roper
