Alocasia Borneo Giant (10)

A close up of the leaf shows how different borneo giant is from Macorrhiza and odora by having tons of ripples once mature. This is a good way to tell it apart from other forms. Still when young they are very hard to tell apart.

Hoya undulata from Sarawak/Borneo

Hoya undulata

Borneo, in the rain forest: A small woolly bat and its roost, the pitcher of the pitcher plant Nepenthes rafflesiana. Usually, these carnivorous plants get their extra nitrogen from the carcasses of trapped insects. This species, however, uses the feces of bats for this purpose as has been discovered by researchers of the University of Würzburg. Photo: Michael Schöner
