The Coast Bar and Restaurant Review and Pics
THE COAST BAR AND RESTAURANT has me considering moving back to The Central Coast. I could waste entire weekends here drinking wonderful wines and beers, sitting in the sun, and inhaling the freshest of seafoods overlooking a view the rest of country would envy.
KITCHEN BY JAMIE - Bringing the Local Venue Weekly Roast Back | Sydney Restaurant Critic
If I was a local I would be visiting KITCHEN BY JAMIE every weekend for a Sunday Roast. They get a Spoon in my scoring purely for bringing back a community form of eating delicious food. This is the place that you want as a local. It’s a no frills venue that has a small menu with regular specials and lovely staff. They are now licenced and offer BYO (at specific times) and their food is like a big comfortable hug of yum!
RICK STEIN AT BANNISTERS - Perfection with Water Views | Sydney Restaurant Critic
RICK STEIN AT BANNISTERS won’t be a cheap meal but it won’t cost you a body part. Our first meal cost us about $120 a head and that included a couple of drinks each. But my god it was worth it. Seafood and views to rival the best in the country. Do not visit unless you have the fish pie and that Salmon Curry is as good. A must for people on a South Coast journey who appreciate the finer foods in life.
SOLANDER DINING AND BAR - Healthy Dining on Australian Natives | Sydney Restaurant Critic
SOLANDER DINING AND BAR is a unique marvel of cuisine that embraces the best of Australian flora and fauna. Everything has a somewhat healthy touch to it and while you may be left disappointed your dessert wasn’t as sweet as you would expect I imagine your body and heart will thank you for it later. http://spooningaustralia.com/solander-bar-and-dining-review/
SOMETHING FOR JESS is the Perfect Local | Sydney Restaurant Critic
The venue, the food, the people, the eclectic furniture, their love for charity and supporting the local community was a breath of fresh air. SOMETHING FOR JESS is now one of my favourite cafes in Sydney. Review's now up on Spooning Australia.
PIZZERIA DA ALFREDO - One of Sydney's Finest Pizzerias | Sydney Restaurant Critic
There’s not many pizza places worth travelling for in Sydney, most local pizza joints will satisfy one’s cravings. But PIZZERIA DA ALFREDO is one of those rare gems of Italian cuisine that demands a drive (or better still an Uber or PT) to indulge and enjoy. Full review is up on Spooning Australia. http://spooningaustralia.com/pizzeria-da-alfredo-review/
Bombini - the Best of the Central Coast | Sydney Restaurant Critic
BOMBINI is the best of the Central Coast of NSW. This Italian/ Aussie #restaurant just outside of #Avoca is a culinary oasis demanding long boozie lunches or pizza parties in their grand green sustainable homestead gardens. And say hit to the lizards and pigs when you're there. 🦎🍕🍹🦞🍝🐷. #thisisthecentralcoast
UMI SUSHI AND BAR - Exceptional Japanese | Sydney Restaurant Critic
UMI SUSHI AND BAR is an exceptional all rounder Japanese venue that gave us the best of the best of a taste experience. It was my second best Japanese dining experience of 2018 just behind a Chankonabe feast in the snow in Hokkaido earlier in the year.
ALPHA - Greek Fine Dining and Wine Tasting | Sydney Restaurant Critic
ALPHA is near the top of the food chain for Greek Fine Dining in Sydney. It isn’t going to break your bank and the food will surely impress as much as the venue. It still creates the traditional food your Yia Yia would make if you were Greek, it is just being interpreted by Peter Conistis, who the SMH describes as the Pioneer of Modern Greek Food. (4.5 stars) Full Review is now up on Spooning Australia. http://spooningaustralia.com/alpha-restaurant-review/
WHEELER'S - South Coast's Finest Seafood | Sydney Restaurant Critic
WHEELER’S SEAFOOD RESTAURANT is as close to a perfect seafood restaurant as I could have hoped for in 2018. It might be a little out of the way at nearly 7hrs from Sydney but if you find yourself down South then you need to make this marvel a destination stop. Stay local, eat lots of oysters, and drink too much wine while devouring some of the best seafood in NSW. Full Review is now up on Spooning Australia http://spooningaustralia.com/wheelers-seafood-restaurant-review/
Goryon-San: Delicious Kushiyaki in Surry Hills | Sydney Restaurant Critic
Goryon San was a perfect place to kick off the Spooning 2019 reviews. Exceptional service with fantastic Izakaya drinks and food. It is a slice of Japan in Sydney and who knew we all needed a Hakata Kushiyaki Kakurega. Wanna know what that is? Click on the link haha
STOWAWAY BAR - Freshwater Venue Hemingway Would Have Loved | Sydney Restaurant Critic
Stowaway Bar is one of the best bars in Sydney. But is it just a bar with food this good? It fits no predefined category and plays to its own, incredibly clever, stylised and humorous, tune. This funky-assed Beaches institution demands a journey to the Northside folks.
LA FAVOLA - One of Sydney's Best Italian Joints | Sydney Restaurant Critic
Chef Fabio Stefanelli brings years of fine-dining expertise to La Favola - Authentic Italian. What we get on good old King Street Newtown is fine dining pasta perfection in a “fast food” environment. I cannot wait to return for more food and one of their Gnocchi Classes. Bon appétit!
