CAFE RACER CO. could be a restaurant in a vineyard it is so rustic, green, and with an evening menu complimentary to wines. Who would think my little beach side hometown would now elevate to be a culinary destination. If you live on the beaches and haven’t been then sort that shit out and if you don’t live on the beaches – it’s day trip time!! http://spooningaustralia.com/cafe-racer-co/
The Calyx was a nice surprise venue in The Royal Botanic Garden, one of the most beautiful places in Sydney. Even if the food was atrocious people would still love visiting. Check out our full review of the hidden, Asian inspired cafe/restaurant. http://spooningaustralia.com/the-calyx/
Roca Mexican Cantina Coogee and Tequila Bar is a must for the locals of Coogee, backpackers and people who can get their butts to the East-side. Gerardo serves some of the best traditional Mexican I have eaten and if that isn’t enough perhaps his selection of over fifty tequilas will do it. Or maybe Taco Tuesday with $3 tacos, $5 sangrias and $6 tequilas will do it. If you can’t get to Coogee hit up their mothership at Calaveras Mexican Cantina. http://spooningaustralia.com/roca/
NOUR is a Lebanese restaurant like no other. Chef Roy Ner and the team have created a modern Lebanese fusion that will blow your mind.
Urban Tadka is a marvel of modern Indian cuisine. It is one of the best Indian venues I have visited and I cannot recommend the trip to Terry Hills enough.
The Clearview Sydney Harbour Cruises Blue Room is a cruise meal done the way it should be. No kids, no massive tour groups and no debauchery. It was a delight of company, service, scenery and fine dining. Full review is up for this fantastic night.
It breaks my heart that The Paragon will mostly likely close its 102 continuous years of trading on May 27th. If you haven’t visited my favourite cafe in Australia, downed a lime spider so sweet you will hear colours, and demolished some of their famous hand made chocolates, then a Blue Mountains road trip needs an immediate addition to your 2018 schedule!
Ribs & Burgers is way better than my pea-sized brain at first imagined. Their food level, venues and support of local produce and charities alone deserves more attention. They may be a burger and rib chain but they are on another level compared to what you may count as a “chain.”
If you haven’t ventured to The Smoking Panda yet you need to amend this culinary discrepancy ASAP. You need to go there with some cash, drink an ample amount of wonderful Old Fashioneds and compliment these amazing drinks with some Chinese inspired snack food that will blow your mind! I cannot wait to return! Full review is now up on Spooning. http://spooningaustralia.com/smoking-panda/
PINS ON LURLINE is near perfection. The Modern Australian country food, the location, and the historical venue are a marvel and worthy of a visit to the Blue Mountains. I cannot wait to return. http://spooningaustralia.com/pins-on-lurline/
KUSUKA is a wonderful instagram food porn heaven that does things with Mi Goreng noodles only gods have known about before now. Full review is now up on Spooning. http://spooningaustralia.com/kusuka/
One of my favourite venues of the year, Cuppa Flower is a food art venue that would inspire Monet and Van Gogh. Full review is now up! http://spooningaustralia.com/cuppa-flower/
BAR UME (on FB as Ume burger) is one of my dining happy places. If bar food is this good in Japan I can not only see owner Kirby Craig’s cause for obsession, I want to move there!! If you haven’t dined here yet make this your first New Year’s resolution for 2018. Japanese Burger Bar Heaven!!! http://spooningaustralia.com/bar-ume/
West Juliett Cafe is easily one of the best cafes I have visited this, or any other, year. Full review is now up on Spooning. http://spooningaustralia.com/west-juliett/
