2014 Intermedial Application for Theatre Practical Assessment. Script by Victoria Carless. Inspirational Images.
Terrible quality lighting and my room was getting quite full at this point. I have taken in the sleeves so that the coat fits Aprille and I along with adding a texture to the sleeves making the coat a bit for delicate. I have also added material to the length so that it reaches to ground.
This is the final form of the baby. The image mainly came form play and a desire to sleep. I started with coat hanger frame to create a stick like structure then swaddled the baby in the same material used for the coat and used found items in my sewing kit; a button, a safety pin, thread and a gross cut of pink lace (She is a girl after all). I created a slit in the material so the baby's head can be moved and a hand can mimic the baby breathing/heartbeat.
This resonated with me as I understood the character Eddie to be the anti-christ as many clues eluded to this in the script. This quote changed my position on the text. it was not a black and white grey scale world. But rather a beige dreary place that all colours had abandoned.
