Ramp warm - up session before the comp... This event was held out the back of the 'Pure Surf' Stranger Surfboard Factory, in Rokeby. All the crew knew exactly where this infamous ramp was and a chain across the flat didn't stop rogue skaters poaching a session. You just packed boltcutters and rode. The ramp itself was built by my mate 'Matt Hadley' and was the very 'first' half pipe, ever built in Tassie period.... trust me ive heard all the bull shit claims. Saturday 2.6.1988..

Tony frontside rocks KT in the Bowl...This cool photo taken by: Jason Carter, is non-other than 'Tony Hallam' the very first 'Pro Rider' to ever come down & demo in Tasmania. This mega event by: YD - Yacht Distributors' saw just about every Skateboarder on the island turn up to watch him destroy the bowl. He was the top Australian 'Voodoo Variflex' Pro Rider and was even riding his very own Signature Pro Model deck. Circa early 1980's.

The Domain Ramp Crew... this sessions not only went down as one of the best, but ended up being our last big skate session together...ever. From the left: The Doctor, Matty, Sean, Russ, me behind the camera and Captain Scabs throwing down his signature floating backside method. Check out every ones smiles EPIC! Saturday Regatta Skate Jam. Hobart, Tasmania.10.2.1996.

Matty's backyard ramp... this killer creation not only became a 'Cult Skate Spot' down here in Tassie, it was also the crews main gathering point for many an epic session day or night. Here's the man himself floating a tasty mute grab transfer over the spine. Thanks bud for sending me all the Oldschool pics SkullyBloodrider.

Another killer vault moment... 5 'not' so average looking tourists caught chillin on Mt.Wellington. They are in fact from the left: Tony Alva - doing the best who killed 'Kenny' look all tour, Dan Drehoble - Mr. Krooked Skateboards, Sean Holland - the best Skatin Export to roll out of Tas, Brett Margaritis - the Modus Man & Pat Duffy - King of Rails. I shot this one day before the big tour and dug it so much it's been framed on my studio wall from day one 16th April 1999 SkullyBloodrider.

Sticking one more air... before the storm hits. This is another photo taken from our last big ramp session together. 'Doctor Sick' snapped this pic of me floating one of my favorite frontside airs. Sadly I have just 6 shots taken from this day to look back on... that's how pumped we all were just to be together and ride. Saturday Regatta Skate Jam. Hobart, Tasmania. 10.2.1996.

Floating big as only Reebie could do... This photo typifies the insane solid airs he could throw down anytime. The shot was taken during a Skate Jam Demo, with touring Pros Jason Lee & Mark Gonzales and Reebs totally 'represented'... big time. Still hard to believe he left us at just age 34, so many super cool memories, Keep rolling Reebs.... Rosny Vert Ramp, Hobart, Tasmania. 18.11.1989.

Subscribe to Thrasher Magazine now... this little keep sake is a promise well kept, but only to the observant... The pic is Patt Duffy doing a 360 flip ontop of the Mt.Wellington observatory, shot by Dan Drehoble. see my other pin of the boys from that day. Dan was so impressed with the tour & Tassie, he promised to slap a super sly thankyou in the next issue of Thrasher, prior to a story. This is it. Thrasher June issue 1999.

Matt Hadley... 'King of ramps'... This is the last photo I took of Matty, doing what he did so well, before he tragically left us all, at just age 29. This is my favorite pic of him... YES it's blurred but that's simply because he was riding so F#!*ing fast. This trick we jointly named - a front side 50/50 Mc Pensioner... and Matty was the Master of sticking it. Miss your infectious energy bud and those mega loud shout outs. Saturday all-night Regatta Skate Jam. Hobart Tasmania. 10.2.1996.

Backside alley-oop... just on sun down. The craziest thing about this day was the bad ass storm passed, the rain completely missed the ramp and we ended up skating all day and into the night under my big flood lights... beyond perfect. Saturday Regatta Skate Jam. Hobart, Tasmania. 10.2.1996.

Matty's backyard ramp... stage 2. the ribs. spacing and attention to detail is a must, but there is always time to hammer smash slackers into lifting their game SkullyBloodrider. from the left: Matty + Nick + Apples with hammer + dead Nicksta 1989.

How did I Know the exact date of these cool 'Old School' boarding pics?... that's easy. I designed & produced the artwork for nearly all the early skate comp & demo posters in Hobart at the time. For all the Graphic Designers out there, this is a copy of my 'original' A3 fully hand drawn felt tip artwork done on ceramic bleedproof artboard, with Letraset % tint tonal-screen film hand cut & peeled for the logos background. Old School. 6.5.1988.

Reebie at the Domain ramp... I hope all that rode with him, enjoy seeing his smiling face again as much as I did pinning it. I was fortunate enough to ride with him from the beginning and watch his total bullshit talent, blow peoples minds every skate. Sadly Reebs is no longer with us, but when people ask me... "where did the 'Domain Ramp' go!" I tell them "God stole it to keep Reebie happy until we can all go riding together again!" The Mercury Newspaper, Hobart, Tasmania. 9.10.99.
