Reconciliation Week portraits

These portraits, supplied by the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, honour some of the country's most influential Indigenous figures. From Dr Matilda House, who was the first person to perform the Welcome to Country at the opening of Federal Parliament, to Koiki (Eddie) Mabo, whose activism permanently altered the way Australians think about Aboriginal land ownership, these portraits offer a rich insight into the history of our Indigenous communities.
