Edward "Ned" Kelly (June 1854 or 1855 – 11 November was an Irish Australian bushranger. Kelly's legacy is controversial; some consider him to be a murderous villain, while others view him as a folk hero and Australia's equivalent of Robin Hood.
Joe Byrnes grave in the Benalla cemetery. He was buried here after he was killed at the siege at Glenrowan. there are other people associated with the Kelly gang buried here, Ned's grandmother, cousin Tom LLoyds parents, Sambo, one of the aboriginal trackers and Martin Cherry who was killed from police fire at the siege.
