On 9 August 2016 UNIC Canberra spoke to the Australian Catholic University students across its six campuses via a video conference. Students from Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Ballarat had the opportunity to learn about the different career avenues with the United Nations. On the 27th of July, 2016, UNIC Canberra joined the Canberra Institute of Technology in launching the 2016 Photography Competition. Now in its seventh year with the theme of “Living Sustainably”, the competition aims to challenge photography students to picture one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in a way that would encourage each and every one of us to take action towards their achievement.
We marked the Australian launch of the Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2015 with an event held on 14 May in Canberra at the Australian National University. The launch featured a presentation by Professor Mark McGillivray of Deakin University, together with commentary provided by Mr Wayne Swan, member of the Australian Parliament and former Treasurer of Australia.
