Cars designs come and go like fads, fashions and trends, but every once in a long while something of classical relevance and beauty is created that outlasts the arbitrary. For me it's the Holden Monaro.
Is this the Green Meanie!
Design concepts and clay models for the HQ.
How simple and basic advertising was back then. The Monaro had such a horny interior. Would have seen a lot of action!
Some early design concepts for the HQ.
The legendary GTS shown at Bathhurst. The Monaro logo is so timeless.
A stunning example seen at Beach Hop in Whangamata.
This is the only flip bonnet I've ever seen on a Monaro. A sick race car.
This must rate as the most amazing Monaro I have ever seen. The owner said he's spent over $100,000 on parts and 7 years of his own time building it. No offers will be even considered apparently!
A beautiful Norm Beachey Monaro. Looks as good as it did at Bathurst way back when.
One of my cherished magazines.
Great collector's magazine.
The crowd was drooling over the metallic orange Monaro at Beach Hop. The detail is impressive, ARP bolts etc everywhere. No expense spared.
A grunty HQ race car. Such a pity the Aussie V8's never ran Monaros. Would have added a special glamour to the series.
An advert from the olden days. My how times have changed!
Go on then, open it up for excitement! Nice pic of the late great Brockie.
