Rainbow water. This is so quick and easy to set up, but so much fun for little people! Simply fill some containers with water and add a few drops of food colouring to each, then present the rainbow water with a range of utensils like spoons, whisks and funnels, for exploring, scooping, pouring and mixing colours. You can also add a little bit of dishwashing liquid for bubbles.
A simple invitation to play featuring Australian animals and introducing the idea of habitats and biomes. A drop of food colouring in water to represent rivers and billabongs, sand, lentils for red desert dust, green rice for rainforest or grass and chocolate cloud dough for soil.
Unicorn and rainbow magic milk. Just pour some milk into a tray, scatter it with drops of food colouring, then touch the colours with a cotton bud dipped in dishwashing detergent and watch the colours burst and swirl! Adding the cookie cutters is fun because you can separate the colours inside and out.
